• Six pub groups with 900 pubs between them are to trial live streaming on their TVs after partnering with Screach, the world’s first streaming platform built for commercial venues.
  • Screach offers pubs a low-cost ‘plug and play’ live streaming solution that already offers 1,500 live sports events a season from Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, PRO14 Rugby and more – all without a Sky box.
  • Early adopters include Rileys, ETM and Beds & Bars, who will use Screach’s unique combination of live sport and venue marketing to attract customers and monetise their TVs with on-screen food and beverage adverts.

London, 12th December 2019 – Six pub chains with a combined estate of nearly 900 pubs are to partner with Screach, the first streaming service designed and built exclusively for commercial premises.

The rapid uptake – which equates to a 12% surge in Screach’s pub chain customer base in just a month – comes after the platform began live streaming sports content into British pubs.

In November Screach launched a partnership with the broadcaster Premier Sports, which owns the rights to more than 1,500 live sports events including football matches from Spain’s La Liga and Italy’s top-flight Serie A, as well as the PRO14 rugby and Scottish Cup football competitions.

Running through the cloud and requiring only a broadband connection to deliver HD picture quality to a pub’s existing TVs, Screach’s streaming technology and partnership with Premier Sports is a radical departure from the traditional subscription sports model.

Until now venues wanting to show live sports had no option but to use satellite technology, which typically comes with a minimum 12-month subscription and can cost an average pub £20,000 a year for both Sky and BT sports.

Crucially the Screach platform also comes with a digital marketing capability – enabling pubs to turn their TV screens into an advertising platform they can use to directly boost food and beverage sales. The platform also connects seamlessly with a venue’s social media presence to raise awareness of events outside the pub to drive additional footfall.

Screach, which is already in use in thousands of venues across the UK in both managed groups as well as hundreds of independents, will now be introduced into pubs and bars operated by chains including Rileys, Beds & Bars, All Our Bars, ETM Group and McManus.

Robert Rawlinson, CEO of Screach, commented: “Screach offers pubs an integrated live streaming and venue marketing platform, delivering a range of live sports events as well as a powerful advertising tool that provides payback for their investment in TVs and sports subscriptions.

“Our partnership with Premier Sports has made many people realise that streaming is now a reality for pubs with an increasing number of forward-thinking operators recognising we can help them achieve their objectives.

“We’re delighted to welcome so many respected pub groups to the streaming revolution, and look forward to helping them draw in more customers and monetise their TVs – all at a competitive price point and on flexible commercial terms.”

Sophie Herbert, Marketing Director of Beds & Bars, added:

“Using technology to help us create the right atmosphere in our venues has always been an important part of the Belushi’s brand. Just as important is our ability to maintain and deliver a diverse and engaging range of live sports for our customers.

“As the sports market continues to fragment, Screach provides us with a tool that not only supports us with our existing investments but also gives us the opportunity to explore new pockets of live content that we didn’t have access to before.”
